Wags is maturing very nicely and he took second in a very competitive Bred-by class at The Mid-Florida 2010 Regional Cavalier Specialty under Breeder-Judge (UK-Northern Ireland), Mr. Robert Lamont (Moorfields Cavaliers). A win picture will be added as it is received. In addition, Wags won the American Bred class at the 2010 Badgerland Cavalier Specialty. This time he was handled by his sire's owner, Stephanie Sterling and he won under Breeder- Judge (USA), Lu Dunham. Look for Wags as he will start to be campaigned in 2011!
The Bred-by class is where the breeders bring in their homebred dogs to compete against one another. No professional handlers are allowed unless they are the breeders of the dogs. The preference is to compete under breeder-judges, especially ones from the country of origin (in Cavaliers that would be breeder-judges from the UK 'United Kingdom'). It is a true joy to a breeder to bring out a dog to be shown under a breed expert and do well.
Watch for this beautiful, typey boy with the sweetest of temperment and wonderful straight and true movement in future appearances as my schedule allows and Wags will be always breeder-owner handled! Wags is very true to breed standard with his moderate size at 12-1/2 inches at the withers and with weight proportionate to height at 16 pounds. People comment that he has an expression that makes ones' heart melt. Stuarthome focused on health and the AKC Breed Standard as the blueprint for the breed.
